The Prospectors' Parable - A Story of the Empire's Outcasts
The Elgrian Empire is experiencing turbulence. The empire is overstretched and corruption is rampant. Slavery, once illegal, was made legal in the past 20 years or so. Provinces are rising up to overthrow the local Crown governments in order to assert their independence. And the rumor is that a new land has been discovered south of the aptly named desert, the Endless Sands.
You were picked up during the rebellion. Maybe you fought on the side of a fledgling country seeking its independence, maybe you were a smuggler, working both sides of a civil war, or maybe you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Empire gave you a choice, 10 years in prison, or 5 years working as a prospector in the “new world.” You chose the latter, for fame, fortune, and freedom.
You crossed the Endless Sands, and came to the new world. A place a magical forests, gigantic waterfalls, and unclaimed land as far as the eye can see. But there is trouble brewing in the forest; Creatures hiding behind trees to ambush you at every turn; the opposing empire, The Saiharian Triumvirate, has landed, claiming this new world for their own; and a mysterious race, once thought vanished, is seeking power again.
